Free end papers and adjacent pages are foxed, otherwise only very occasional slight foxing. 278 illustrations from small woodcuts of crystal structures to full page b/w location maps and 38 photo plates, one of which is coloured. Indexes to topics, places and authors cited. An encyclopaedic reference in its day, but very few survive.

HB in brown cloth covered boards, in as new condition. From manuscripts from the early 18th century discovered in Devon in 1973. In new condition.
