Text clean. Plates are slightly foxed. Bookplate of Earl of Derby, with bookseller’s catalogue entry paste down below bookplate. Librarian shelf notation in brown ink on blank pages before title, otherwise no annotations. 450 printed. No second or later editions.
The Lord Stanley (1775-1851), 13th Earl of Derby, was a natural historian and his zoological collections founded the Liverpool Museum.
