Numerous full page (18 x 10cm) panoramic views of labelled mountains, foxed. Text clean apart from pages adjacent views. Chapters on Geology (15pp.) Borrowdale Lead (graphite) mine (5pp.) and Lonsdale+ caves (43pp.). In fair to good condition.
Jonathan Otley (1766-1856), geologist, clock and instrument maker, surveyor and map-maker, was dubbed the ‘Father of Lakeland Geology’ by JE Marr in 1916.
