Geological Map of England, Wales and the Southern Part of Scotland, no date, but soon after 1862 considering authorities consulted and before 1876, death of publisher, James Reynolds. 1”= 14 miles (1:887,000) approx. Hand coloured engraving, 82.5 x 65.5cm (32”x27.75”), dissected, mounted on linen and folded between marbled soft card covers –one missing-. Age-toned, colours bright, rust-stained pin-hole at each corner. In fair to good condition. EG Ravenstein (1834-1913)cartographer and geographer; German, naturalised British subject, worked in Topographical Dept War Office 1855-75 and was Professor of Geography at Bedford College. Victoria Gold Medallist of Royal Geographical Society.
