Volumes 1 and 2 (587 + 589 pp) 22.3 x 14.5 cm, light brown full leather binding with embossed gilt fine lines and decoration and black leather title paste-ons. Slightly bumped and minor shelf wear apart from limited chipping to top of spine of vol.1. V1 text clean throughout; v2 clean but for some foxing on last 20 pages. Plain end papers with bookplates of Sir David Stewart (1835-1919). Volume 3, the atlas volume is half bound in grained dark brown leather with gilt lettering, on marbled paper covered boards. Slightly bumped and light shelf wear. Marbled end papers. Text clean with occasional slight foxing of tissues protecting plates and line-work transfer from some unprotected plates to text. 33 plates of scenes and sections, and 10 map plates of which 9 are hand coloured and two are folding. All clean and bright. Overall, in good to very good condition.
