(1st edition by HB Medlicott and WT Blanford). Geological Survey Office, Calcutta, xxii +543pp. Original half leather binding, corners bumped and spine wear to spine, but binding tight. Slight foxing to endpapers, frontispiece and title page, but rest of text age-toned but clean. Very occasional pencil lines in margins. No library stamps or book plate. 18 plates - mostly fossils, 3 fold out maps and sections, and one folded colour printed map, the Geology of India, 1891, in rear pocket.The book is in good to very good condition.

Map descriptions: Geology of India, 1891, 2nd edition, printed 1898, scale 1:6,082,560 or 1”=96miles. Folded, colour printed map, 66x74cm (23.5x29in). Bright colours but worn on folds. Upper left corner torn with loss of margin just into map border. Fold out topographic map of Himalayas with neat archival tape repairs to torn folds. Maps in fair to good condition.
