Turkiye. Ramage, Andrew; Craddock, P. T. (2000). King Croesus' Gold: excavations at Sardis [Turkiye] and the history of gold refining. London: British Museum. 272 pp. 1st edition. Hardback, black cloth-covered boards with gilt lettering to spine. In as new condition. Dustjacket has minor wear, in fine condition.

Published in association with Harvard University Art Museums. Sardis, in Western Anatolia, is the earliest site of gold smelting, and its King, Croesus, introduced coinage to the world. The geological account is negligible and inconclusive, although the archaeological excavation of the smelter and account of the finds is thorough.
