This book is about Parkinson’s medical career, of particular interest to the author. Parkinson is best known for the disease named after him. For geologists, he was a pioneering writer of Organic Remains of a Former World (1804) and  Outlines of Oryctology: an Introduction to the Study of Fossil Organic Remains, especially of those found in British Strata (1822).
