Babbage, C. (1847). ‘Observations on the Temple of Serapis, at Pozzuoli, near Naples, with remarks on certain causes which may produce Geological Cycles of Great Extent’ extract from the Quarterly Journal of the Geological Society of London, v.3. pp.186-217. With two foldout b/w lithographs: one, a perspective view of the Temple of Jupiter Serapis, and the other a section showing the successive changes in level the temple has undergone, both 21 x 26.5cm, both foxed. Text clean, unmarked, age-toned. In good condition.

Concerns observations made in 1828, read at the Geol Soc in 1834, one figure is dated 1836, and published in 1847.
