B/W lithograph 98 x 127 cm dissected and mounted on linen folding to 30 x 21.5 cm. between  marbled card covers with manuscript label (2 sheets joined). Age-toned and lightly soiled. The linen is frail and split along folds in places; just holding together and fragile. There is d slight wear to card covers. In poor to fair condition.   NOT GEOLOGICAL

*the scale at the bottom edge along the equator. Along the top edge at 64 degrees N is 1:4,000.000 approx. There are pencil traces of voyages of the ‘Canada’ in 1860, and ‘Bohemia’ in 1861 between Liverpool and Halifax/New York with dates and depths en route. The former was a wood-hulled paddle steamer built for Cunard Line in 1848 and was a primary mail carrier. The latter was an iron-hulled screw-driven ship built in 1860 for the Allan Line.
