Letter of thanks on Geological Survey of Scotland Stationary, dated 10 July 99, signed by John Horne to Dr. Traquair (1840-1912), who contributed the descriptions of the fossil fish of the Upper Silurian in this memoir. Traquair’s contribution is referred to in the preface. Transcript included.

This comprehensive memoir has not been updated and is out of print. It is the classic reference to the Silurian rocks of the south of Scotland.
