Sheet  6, ¼” Index series.  (1886). Geological Survey of England and Wales. Covering North Sea coast from Staithes, Yorkshire to mouth of Humber River. Hand-coloured lithograph, in two parts – west 68 x 41cm, and east 68 x 50cm – both dissected and mounted on linen and folded to 25.5 x 18 cm, with one marbled soft card cover. The West part, with Stanford label, covers coast with manuscript marginal notes name and number geological formations more or less opposite their occurrence. The East part is blank sea area but has hand-coloured legend in margin. Clean, colours bright. In very good condition except for being in two parts.
